Jennifer + Warren at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts

Jennifer and Warren’s wedding was one of the most memorable weddings of the year for me. The venue, Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is such a gorgeous place. The whole day was very dramatic because of the weather. The day started out with the perfect blue sky. Please listen to the best man toast in the video – Plan #1 outside garden ceremony couldn’t proceed because of the sudden heavy rain. As soon as the ceremony was over, the sky cleared up and the sun shined through. But as the best man said, there was a vibe in the air that whatever happens, everyone’s going to have the best time ever. It was very true. It was such a beautiful day.

After receiving the video, Jennifer wrote me

“We just finished watching the wedding DVD. Both Warren and I are extremely happy and impressed with it. You did an extraordinary job with the footage. I don’t have professional terminologies, but the way you mixed the scenes and matched the music, the entire editing was so wonderful. We could totally understand why you took much time to complete it and we can’t thank you enough. The entire beautiful memories came back all together and this will be something we will keep for lifetime to watch over and over again. The copies are already mailed out to our parents to L.A. and Korea. I’m sure they will cry and laugh watching it too. I will share their feedback too once I hear back from them. Thank you very much for the beautiful work again. ”

This kind of response makes me SO happy. Thank you Jennifer and Warren!

GREAT JOB! to the coordinator Nerissa from Private Reception. And the amazing photographer Roey Yohai. His work is beautiful.

Erica & Roman at Roslyn Country Club

2011 is passing by so quickly. I just shot my last wedding of the year. I will be in my studio all winter editing the awesome footage I got!
Between now and the new year, I will be finally positing a lot of video from 2011!!
Here’s one. Erica and Roman suggested to incorporate photographs from their childhood into their highlight reel. So here it is. Erica has such lovely smiles all the time. Try to count how many of her laughs you can find in this video:) Erica and Roman came over to my studio the other day. They told me that they were BLOWN AWAY by the video. It makes me so happy! As you see in the video, they have such a cute Shiba dog. I have a passion for Shiba dog – so we chit chat for a few hours :)

Roman and Erica chose such an excellent photographer Jami Saunders. Their photos can be found in Jami’s Blog.

Erika & Marc at the Gotham Hall, NYC

Here’s the highlight reel of Erika and Marc’s wedding at Gotham Hall. Erika and Marc were gracious, gorgeous and I’ll say it, “Stunning!” I want to thank Erika’s mother, Sharon, for doing such a wonderful job as a wedding coordinator. It was a pleasure to capture this beautiful wedding. Erika’s dress was stunning, said it again, and Marc was dapper indeed. Gotham Hall is an excellent venue for a Jewish wedding, as the stomping of the glass is more of a BOOM, BAM and POW! I didn’t need any special effect to amplify the sound…. again STUNNING.

Awesome vendors for this wedding:
Photographer: Francesco Mastalia
Band: Uptown Mix of Vali Entertainment
Flowers:  Dianna Gould

Lisa + Adam at Angel Orensanz NYC

Lisa and Adam got married last winter at Angel Orensanz in Lower East Side in Manhattan. Their wedding is featured in NY magazine Winter 2012 Issue. Take a peek to get inspired! They are such stylish, and sweet couple- Lisa was “Rockabilly, Old Hollywood slash Dita Von Teese” bride! VERY hot.

Lisa and Adam wrote:

” Hi Motoko, We got the video yesterday and absolutely love it!! It’s amazing, truly captures everything from that day and it was so fun to watch it and relive the moments – we actually watched it twice last night :-) . Lisa and Sam’s Long Island Vineyard Wedding

Lisa and Sam had such a good wedding. I could feel how much the couple care about their friends and families, and how much the guests care about the couple.
Their wedding is featured on Style Me Pretty today!

I loved working with their Coordinator Regina from Cloud Nove Events and Leslie Russell of Marcey Brownstein Catering & Event. These ladies know how to make it happen!
Great job to the photographers Doug McGoldrick & Ariane Hunter! And my favorite Carte Blanche, a live jazz band. They sound so good and aesthetically pleasing. Don’t miss out my video!

Weekend Review: 2 weddings in 1 day. Vani & Seth at Tappan Hill Mansion Hindu & Jewish wedding

I was in Tarrytown, NY over the weekend to film Vani and Seth’s rehearsal dinner at  Ritz Carlton and wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion (the former estate of Mark Twain!)
Vani was her own wedding coordinator. She planned everything on her own. Not only one wedding she coordinated, but she did two. In the morning, the Tappan Hill Mansion was decorated for such an elaborate Indian wedding ceremony. By the afternoon, the entire venue was turned around and ready for their romantic Jewish ceremony. It was very exciting to witness and capture everything come together. Great job Vani!

In 2008, I made Seth’s older sister Rachel and Brian’s wedding video. I love this family. It was so nice to see them all again this weekend.

Vani and Seth’s photographer, Brian from Brian Dorsey studio is amazing. I worked with him twice within a month. And I see why he is chosen as “one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world” by American Photo Magazine.

Here’s a recap video of Vani and Seth’s 2 wedding ceremonies. Note: This is not a highlight video. It’s just a tease.

Weekend Review: 9.10.11 / An email made my day

We shot 2 weddings in upstate NY this weekend of 9.10.11! One wedding was at Osborn Castle in Garrison, NY. The other wedding was at Apple Barn Farm in Germantown, NY. We were very lucky to work with incredible vendors at great venues. Especially with such great photographers who are also super easy to work with.  At Osborn Castle, we worked with amazing Karen Wise. At the Farm, we worked with China Jorrin.  Please check out their photos. Amazing work.

When I got back home from a wedding, I received this email from Stephanie and Matt who received their wedding video over the weekend.  Thank you Stephanie and Matt for the kind words.

Dear Motoko,

I guess its a little odd to be getting an email from a client so late at night, but I had to email you immediately. Stephanie and I just got home and my landlord gave me the package you sent us with our wedding video. Naturally, we were excited to see it and I am 100% speechless…. Words cannot express how incredible it is. The whole time we were watching it I felt as if I was watching a movie. You seemed to catch all of the best moments of our day. Not only did you record the best moments we shared with our family and friends, you captured the love I feel for my wife. Watching the movie you made about wedding made me feel as if I was reliving all those moments. While all the big moments were portrayed perfectly, it was the small things you caught through the lens of the camera that impressed me most. At one point during our first dance you caught us singing the words of our wedding song to each other and it was one of the happiest moments of my life and now I will be able to relive it every time I watch this movie. You told the story of our day with our friends and our families, but more importantly you told the story of our love. Thank you for your beautiful work. It will be forever appreciated.

Matthew and Stephanie
